CRC1709 Invited Speaker Series—May 4, 2026: Prof. Jérôme Tamburini on Iron Metabolism in AML

As part of the CRC1709 Invited Speaker Series, we are pleased to welcome Prof. Jérôme Tamburini from the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and the University of Geneva.

In his upcoming seminar titled Iron metabolism as a central driver of stem cell persistence and therapy resistance in AML, Prof. Tamburini will present crecent insights into the role of iron metabolism in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). His research focuses on both basic and translational aspects of onco-hematology, with particular emphasis on the mechanisms underlying leukemia progression and the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Prof. Tamburini is an Associated Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, and a practicing physician at the Oncology Department of HUG. He previously trained in Paris and completed a Fulbright-funded research fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. His work bridges clinical and experimental research, contributing to a deeper understanding of AML pathophysiology.
